Will we ever be proud?!?

I'm an Indian and I'm proud to be one. But there are times when I wonder whether the country is moving forward or backward.

India has come a long way since its independence, it has definitely been accepted as one of the most promising country's and definitely is one country that holds so much talent and potential. Take a look at the article in the link I've posted though ( http://cwg.ndtv.com/commonwealth/article/id/spoen20100156929/type/latest/cwg-kalmadi-defends-himself-accuses-delhi-government-of-corruption-60412.html )

Having had the opportunity to host the CWG 2010, the country is puffed up in pride. Indians the world over have gone sentimentally crazy and there are posts all over the cyber space telling people how proud they are to be Indians. Honestly, I'm proud too. Its a milestone achievement, but!! and there is always a but! When will corruption not be the first thing on people's minds. When will our leaders take more pride in the role they play in this diversely beautiful country.

A lot of people say that its easy to complain and when will we, the general public, wake up and do something about it. I'm gonna ask you this in return. If the general public wanted to look after the affairs of the country individually then why select leaders? Every individual has a role to play and the politicians have theirs and it definitely is not about corruption, theft and terrorism!

Some day we hope that our politicians will put the country before their pockets until then we will just continue to smudge every glory with the tar of corruption!
